What to expect

The two-day youth course is tailored for people who teach, work, live with, support and care for young people aged 8 to 18. The Youth Mental Health First Aid course supports delegates to have: - An in depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing - Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues - Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress - Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening - The knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate - The ability to support a young person with a long-term mental health issue or disability to thrive - Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing

Cancellation Policy

Due to limited places on each of our courses, we request that you cancel at least 30 days before a scheduled course. This gives us the opportunity to re-advertise and fill the place. You may cancel by phone or online at You may request to cancel your ticket booking / reservation for a full refund, up to 30 days before the date and time of the event (excluding Eventbrite’s non-refundable booking fee). Cancellations between 30-15 days before the event may transferred to a different date/time of the same course, with a transfer fee applicable. Cancellation requests made within 15 days of the course date/time may not receive a refund nor a transfer. When you book / reserve a place on a course, you agree to these terms.
