Ad hoc support for DSLs and DSMHLs

At Brightcore Consultancy we regularly support DSLs and DSMHLs in schools and colleges on an ad hoc basis, often as part of an agreed SLA, by providing specific case by case advice and guidance, or assistance with more complex investigations, as required. Our approach is reflective and non-judgmental so as to support you in your role to embed best practice within your setting.

Types of support we regularly provide include:

  • Mentoring and coaching for newly appointed DSLs / DDSLs and DSMHLs

  • Independent investigation of incidents / complaints 

  • Record keeping system reviews

  • Advice and case review:

    • On-call support via telephone, Zoom/Teams or email.

    • Support with difficult cases or referrals that have not been accepted

    • Support in escalating your concerns and challenging decision making

    • Support with cases about to be closed by social care

    • Independent case-by-case guidance
