Instructor-led Governor Training
At Brightcore Consultancy we provide a range of high quality, instructor-led training sessions to support school and college governors/trustees in meeting their statutory requirements, along with enhancing their understanding of the key presenting issues in the fields of safeguarding and mental health in education. Each of our courses is led by a highly experienced practitioner who is not only an expert in their field but also has significant experience of school/college governance/trusteeship.
Each session typically takes two hours and can either be delivered face-to-face or live-online, depending on your preference.
We regularly deliver training on the following topics:

KCSIE Updates and Statutory Safeguarding requirements for all governors.

Mental Health and Wellbeing in Children and Young People– the direction of travel and what governors need to know.

Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment in Schools and Colleges – a review of the current situation including the statutory guidance and advice for governors/trustees.

Online Safety – understanding risk, the changing landscape, and governmental requirements.

Child Criminal Exploitation, County Line, and Child Sexual Exploitation. Understanding extra-familial harms and the need for a contextual safeguarding approach.

Providing support and challenge to DSLs and DSMHLs – the role of the safeguarding and mental health governor
