Testimonials

Eugene McCarthy, St Gregory's Catholic Primary School

"This training course has genuinely changed my outlook on the mental health of wellbeing of children in education. It has inspired me to try and press forward with making this an absolute priority in my school."

As a new Head, the safeguarding review and standards checklist are worth every penny. It will give us the confidence to prepare for our imminent inspection knowing we are fully compliant. I highly recommend Ollie.

I recently completed the Designated Senior Mental Health Lead training, and I was thoroughly impressed. The course was incredibly informative, providing a comprehensive understanding of mental health in schools and how to support students effectively. The content was engaging, with practical strategies that I can apply as I begin this bew rol. The pace of the training was perfect—detailed enough to give a deep understanding, but structured in a way that kept me focused and interested throughout. The instructor's expertise and passion for the subject made the learning experience even more valuable. I feel much more equipped to support mental health initiatives at my school and would highly recommend this training to anyone new to this leadership role.

Rebecca Love

Rainham School for Girls

As a DSL for a national charity that works closely with schools, I found it extremely helpful to get an overview of updates in legislation and an insight into the various responsibilities of a school DSL. The information about online safety was very useful as the concerns raised by our music therapists are often around this area. Incidence statistics were very helpful too. Tracey was extremely knowledgeable and provided an authoritative overview of legislation updates, incidence statistics around safeguarding and key internet resources out there to support professionals, children and parents. Her presentation style was engaging, there were useful opportunities for small group discussions, and overall it was an excellent and valuable training day. Thank you!

Ollie has worked with us in Wiltshire Council for nearly three years now developing and supporting our DSL training programme. His knowledge and experience in this area has enhanced our training offer enormously and he is valued and praised by our delegates in every session he delivers. His delivery style comes from a place of secure understanding and credibility with our schools, as they quickly come to understand how his experiences in working across the country enhance the discussions and imparting of invaluable knowledge. He also contributes to our annual safeguarding conference and is always a welcome addition to our programme. He makes the time to work with us to develop his understanding of the ‘Wiltshire way’ which ensures our DSLs get a good grounding in the contextual practice of Wiltshire. He has been a great addition to the Wiltshire safeguarding family.

JUDITH TINSLEY

Education Safeguarding Effectiveness Lead

Wiltshire Council

Gill visited our school with an open and developmental approach for our Safeguarding Review. She was very thorough speaking to SLT, staff, pupils & governors. The result was a celebration of all that is good in our school in terms of safeguarding plus a short/medium term plan for improving and tightening some areas. A really worthwhile experience.

Claire Noble-Barton

Exceptional quality of training. In a complex field, Ollie's wisdom, experience and detailed, current knowledge of DfE guidance is essential for DSLs seeking best practice.

SARAH PITTAWAY

Deputy Head

As a HR Leader, I often run Wellbeing Programs. Mental Health is a huge topic in the workplace and it’s imperative that we support our employees. I booked my Mental Health First Aid Training via Brightcore Consultancy as they are experts in the field of Mental Health awareness.

It was run over 2 days via Zoom and was executed to perfection: from the sign up procedure to receiving the links to MHFA to get my certificate post course. Jen Christie, the trainer, was brilliant: very knowledgeable, open and authentic. She had the right balance of listening to us as delegates, responding to our questions (sometimes a bit left-field!) and keeping us moving through at the right pace. I’d highly recommend Brightcore Consultancy as a learning provider. I’ll certainly be booking me, my team and the wider workforce in with them again soon.

The digital and paper supporting materials are exceptional - worth the price of the training alone and the human way that the course is embedded in leader and staff well-being alongside student well-being is refreshing and has never been more important. Highly recommended.

Where to begin. Ollie and Anisha were fantastic from start to finish. They explained the functions of Zoom to all at the beginning which is great if you are only used to using Teams. It felt relaxed and comfortable without seeming to regimented. The speakers were so inspiring and open. Normally with topics of this nature you find it difficult to find the balance, however they all delivered such different techniques. Five-Star Exceptional Safeguarding Review!
During our last Ofsted inspection, I (as DSL) was asked, 'How do you know your Safeguarding arrangements are effective?" I felt uncomfortable with my answer having only just joined a Trust, and feeling that internal reviews often find few areas for improvement; I felt that I wanted something more rigorous to test our arrangements.

We booked a Safeguarding Review through Brightcore as a way of preparing for our next inspection. The information shared in the lead up to the day, along with the review of our website and policies, was comprehensive and enabled me to utilise the consultants' time in school effectively. Within the first 15-minutes of the onsite visit, I knew we had made the right decision! The consultant was challenging, yet supportive, knowledgeable and open to discussion.
The review was incredibly thorough, covering all the Safeguarding Standards, and the good practice recommendations are so useful. Furthermore, I feel that, in an area where there is little validation for such important work, my efforts to safeguard our pupils, families and staff are recognised and effective - I feel incredibly confident, should I be asked the same question again.
I look forward to working with Brightcore again in the future and cannot recommend this service enough!

Oliver was fully professional and his knowledge around safeguarding is second to none, whether this be current practice, KCSIE updates, case reviews, or DfE/Ofsted requirements. Before his arrival, Oliver audited our website and reviewed our policies and, during the meetings, shared documents and risk assessments that further enhanced our provision.
