Brightcore Excellence in Safeguarding Awards demonstrate a commitment to independent safeguarding scrutiny, transparency and continuous improvement, based on our review of over 250 aspects of safeguarding provision aligned with statutory guidance.
Recognising commitment to independent safeguarding review
At Brightcore Consultancy, we believe that schools, colleges and organisations should be recognised for engaging openly and proactively with independent safeguarding scrutiny.
Our Brightcore Excellence in Safeguarding Awards Framework has been developed to acknowledge organisations that commit to a robust external safeguarding review process as part of their wider safeguarding assurance and improvement journey.
This recognition is designed to reflect a setting’s commitment to transparency, reflection and continuous improvement.
It is not intended to replicate an inspection judgement or regulatory grading. Instead, it recognises the value of engaging fully with independent safeguarding review and acting constructively on the findings.
Schools, colleges and organisations that undertake Brightcore Consultancy’s award-winning external safeguarding review process are eligible for inclusion within the framework.
As part of the review process, we consider evidence relating to over 250 aspects of safeguarding provision, enabling settings to receive a thorough external appraisal of current practice together with detailed recommendations and clear action planning.
The framework has been designed to celebrate professional openness and sustained engagement with safeguarding review, while maintaining the seriousness and integrity that safeguarding work requires.
The Awards
Organisations completing a full external safeguarding review may be eligible for the following recognitions under the Brightcore Excellence in Safeguarding framework.
Commitment Award
Sustained Commitment Award
The Commitment Award recognises that an organisation has engaged with Brightcore Consultancy’s full external safeguarding review process and has demonstrated a clear commitment to independent safeguarding scrutiny.
This award reflects an organisation’s willingness to review its safeguarding arrangements openly and thoroughly, including policies, procedures, systems, culture and practice, through Brightcore’s external review framework.
The Sustained Commitment Award recognises organisations that re-engage with Brightcore Consultancy’s external safeguarding review process at a later stage, demonstrating continued commitment to safeguarding assurance, development and improvement over time.
This award reflects sustained engagement with independent safeguarding scrutiny and provides recognition of an organisation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening safeguarding leadership, culture, systems and practice.
A Future Recognition
Brightcore Consultancy may also, in due course, introduce an additional recognition for organisations that demonstrate particularly strong and sustained safeguarding practice across the breadth of the safeguarding standards and aspects reviewed through our external review framework.
