At Brightcore Consultancy, we are committed to promoting mental health awareness and providing essential skills through our internationally recognised and accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA®) courses. These training courses are designed to help individuals identify and support those experiencing mental health issues. We offer both Adult and Youth MHFA England accredited courses, tailored to meet different needs and age groups.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Our two-day Youth MHFAider® course is ideal for those who work with or support young people aged 8 to 18. This comprehensive training can be attended by individuals aged 16 and upwards. It equips participants with the knowledge to spot the signs of mental ill health and provide initial help.
The course covers:
Understanding youth mental health and its influencing factors.
Practical skills to identify and address mental health issues.
Techniques for non-judgemental listening and support.
Guidance on helping young people access further support.
Training is delivered through engaging online sessions, with a mix of presentations, discussions, and group activities. Participants receive a certificate, a manual, and a workbook upon completion.
Adult Mental Health First Aid
Our two-day Adult MHFAider® course focuses on supporting adults with mental health challenges. Like the Youth course, it is open to those aged 16 and above. The training includes:
Recognising mental health issues and providing initial support.
Encouraging professional help and support networks.
Enhancing interpersonal skills, such as active listening and empathy.
Understanding the role and boundaries of an MHFAider®.
Courses are available online or face-to-face and are delivered through four live sessions. Participants receive a digital manual, a reference card, and access to the MHFAider Support App® for ongoing support.
MHFA Champion Course
For those seeking a shorter commitment, we offer the one-day MHFA Champion courses for both youth and adults. These courses provide:
An understanding of common mental health issues.
Skills to support mental health awareness and wellbeing.
Confidence to step in and support someone in distress.
Delivered through a mix of presentations and group activities, these courses also limit participants to 16 to ensure a supportive learning environment.
MHFA Awareness Course
We also offer half-day Mental Health Aware courses, perfect for raising general awareness. These sessions cover:
Basic mental health knowledge and stigma reduction.
Skills to support those experiencing mental health issues.
Strategies for personal mental health and wellbeing.
Participants will receive a certificate, a manual, and a toolkit to support their learning and mental health journey.
